Here’s the cover for Niall’s book – WHISPER KISS is Dragonfire #5, and will be released August 3, 2010.

And here’s the cover copy:
One man’s mission ignites one woman’s fire…
Niall Talbot has volunteered to hunt down and destroy all the remaining shadow dragons—who were weakened by the destruction of the Dragon’s Blood Elixir—before they can wreak more havoc. Among them is his dead twin brother, making Niall’s mission not only dangerous but personal.
Tattoo artist Rox believes the world is a canvas to be made more beautiful. An unconventional spirit who isn’t afraid of anything, she doesn’t even f linch when a shape-shifting dragon warrior suddenly appears on her doorstep. And as a woman who follows her heart in matters of passion, she makes the perfect mate for a firestorm with Niall.

(And no, it will not be available at RWA National, for the literacy signing. July titles will be the newest ones shipped for the bookfair. Just FYI. I will have bookplates to sign for you.)
Don’t you love it? I can’t believe that these Dragonfire covers just keep getting better and better.

Thanks PamT, Monica and StephanieG. I really like this cover – but then, I really like ALL the Dragonfire covers!
I wonder what they’ll do for Rafferty’s book…

Very nice to view on a cold, grey, foggy day with snow on the ground.
Another on the list to wait for. Patience is not my strong point.

Oh God, seems like I’m the outsider here, but I don’t like the guy (don’t beat me!) or at least his face, the rest of his body is really nice… *ducks rotten tomatoes*
But I absolutely love the background! Beautiful colour and a beautiful scenery!
My favourite is still “Kiss of Fire”, though. First and only book ever I bought only because of the cover which turned out to be a very good choice indeed!

I have to say that the background is completely awesome! Personaly I know I liked it when it cut off just around the chin because it left a bit to the imagination for the reader but don’t get me wrong I like the cover and can’t wait to read Whisper Kiss.

The interesting thing, Lendell and LisaK, is that the earlier versions of this cover that I saw were cropped the same way as the other Dragonfire covers – the model had no eyes. So, it might still be up for discussion, or it might just depend how each particular book gets trimmed. LisaK, you might be able to find a copy that doesn’t have his eyes!
I do love the red, though, and those swirling leaves.

I have to admit that while I love the colors I do agree that the covers are better when they cut off just below the eyes.

Well, DJ, the actual cover flats I received were cropped like the previous covers – no eyes. That’s probably a better indication of how the books will be.

I like the sound of this book. I hope it is an a print format as I have no ebook reader. I like my shapeshifter stories and your dragons sound like an awesome read. Do they need to be read in order or are they stand alone?

Hi Robin -
The Dragonfire books are all mass market originals, which also are available simultaneously in digital formats. So WHISPER KISS will be a print book! The books do stand alone, although some readers still like to read them in order. There are continuing characters, who maybe have had their story told before. My editor and I try to ensure that a reader can pick up any of the books without having read the others, then go back if desired.
